If you have already trained as a Bowen Therapist, Fascial Kinetics is an excellent course to study to enhance your current skills and understanding of Bowen Therapy. Most practicing therapists can obtain RPL (recognition of Prior Learning) for FK1, but would need to attend the bridging course offered in Introduction to Fascial Kinetics to become familiar with the more detailed anatomy and physiology that is covered in FK 2 and 3.

Fascial Kinetics is a comprehensive training program designed to teach Bowen Therapy in a progressive manner giving participants time to integrate the information into a clinical environment. We teach Certificate IV and Diploma courses in Bowen Therapy, but also have an introductory level course. The course is supported with detailed manuals that provide the most comprehensive and well researched material that exists on Bowen Therapy.

The developer of Fascial Kinetics, Russell Sturgess, attended one of the first courses taught by one of Tom Bowen’s students. His technique remains very true to the original Bowen that he learnt, but he has spent many years researching how and why the technique works so well. This deep understanding enhances the results of the therapy, as the intent of the practitioner giving the treatment has a major impact on the positive outcome of the treatment.

The course covers more than just basic therapy, developing comprehensive skills and knowledge in a wide range of areas that will ensure you complete the course as a competent therapist. Fascial Kinetics is unique among Bowen Therapy courses in that it teaches the science of healing coupled with the art of healing.

Additional topics covered include full explanation of how the therapy works; Bowen specific anatomy and physiology; philosophy of healing; client record taking, assessment skills and treatment plans; case studies; use of supplements and ointments. The course also teaches advanced assessment skills; practice management, business considerations and marketing; tissue salts; and the link between Bowen and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

You can learn just to practice on your family and friends, or complete higher level courses to become a registered practitioner. It is becoming a well known and well accepted therapy, and there are many therapists worldwide who now specialize exclusively in Bowen Therapy. Other remedial therapy practitioners also learn Bowen to use as a useful adjunct to their existing skill base.

Practitioners who are registered with the Bowen Therapy Federation of Australia can provide receipts for their clients to obtain rebates from participating health funds.

Your training would consist of Bowen Therapy (BT) 1, 2 and 3 for the Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy; and BT 4 and 5 for the Diploma in Bowen Therapy. Each level is 4 days in duration

Course Dates for 2009
